July 1, 2015

Modesto, CA. - After coughing up a late lead, the Modesto Nuts came back for a 5-4, ten-inning triumph over the Bakersfield Blaze at John Thurman Field on Tuesday night.

In the bottom of the ninth, Dillon Thomas whacked a triple off the right-field wall. The throw back to the infield kicked off the cutoff man's glove. Thomas popped to his feet and scored the tying run.

In the eighth, the Blaze (27-48; 1-4) had taken the one-run lead on a go-ahead, two-run homer from Tyler O'Neill.

Konner Wade tossed well for the Nuts working seven innings and allowing just one run on six hits with five strikeouts.

Brett Ash worked eight innings in the start for the Blaze. The righty allowed only three runs and struck out six.

Matt Carasiti (W, 3-5) tossed a perfect tenth inning with two strikeouts.
