Musgrave Deals in 8-1 Thwacking of the Blaze

July 2, 2015

Modesto, CA. - Ten hits backed Harrison Musgrave's gem in the Modesto Nuts' 8-1 victory over the Bakersfield Blaze on Wednesday night at John Thurman Field.

Musgrave (W, 10-1) worked seven dominant innings for the Nuts (38-38; 5-1) allowing just one hit. The only other baserunner came when he hit Austin Wilson in the fifth. Musgrave did not walk a batter and struck out eight including three of the final four he faced.

Eddie Campbell (L, 3-4) struggled in his start for the Blaze (27-49). The lefty allowed five runs on seven hits over 3.1 innings.

The top of the Nuts' order did a bulk of the damage. Raimel Tapia drove in a run in the three-run second; scored twice and recorded a pair of hits. Jordan Patterson clubbed a double and a triple while driving in three. Ryan McMahon reached four times on two walks, a single, and a double while driving in a run. Correlle Prime added a RBI single in the first. Troy Stein drove in Dillon Thomas with his only hit of the day.
