Las Vegas Edges Albuquerque 3-2

July 6, 2015

NEED TO KNOW: The Las Vegas 51s (47-37) edged the Albuquerque Isotopes (37-47) 3-2 Sunday night at Cashman Field in Las Vegas, NV. Infielder Cristhian Adames turned in his second-straight three-hit game and fourth in his last six outings.

THE TURNING POINT: Albuquerque spotted Las Vegas three runs and could never recover. A solo homer by the 51s' Travis Taijeron in the second got their offense rolling. Las Vegas added a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth before the Isotopes bats warmed up. Jose Rivera led off the sixth inning with a pinch-hit single, and Rafael Ynoa doubled down the left field line. After a strikeout, Cristhian Adames singled in Rivera, and Kyle Parker drove in Ynoa with a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 3-2. Albuquerque could never regain traction though and fell 3-2.

ATTA BOY ADAMES: Cristhian Adames may be on the hottest streak of any Isotopes batter this season. He finished Sunday's game 3-for-4 with an RBI. It is his second-straight three-hit game and fourth in his last six appearances. During his last nine games, Adames is now batting .511 (23-for-45) with eight runs scored, four doubles, two homers and 12 RBI.

YNOA WHAT I MEAN?: Utility man Rafael Ynoa appeared in his third-straight game since joining the Isotopes on Friday. He went 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Ynoa has hits in all three games, including a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning on Friday. In his three games, he is 5-for-10 with a double, a triple, three runs scored, an RBI and a walk.

ON DECK: The Isotopes and 51s will play three of their four-game series Monday night at 8:05. Right-handed pitcher Jair Jurrjens (1-1, 5.13 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for Albuquerque, while Las Vegas will send right-hander Matthew Bowman (5-9, 5.71 ERA).

IN THE HOLE: After their four-game stop at Las Vegas, the Isotopes will conclude the pre-All-Star Break schedule with a five-game series at the El Paso Chihuahuas. Albuquerque's next home game will follow the All-Star on July 16.
