SALEM, Va. - The Arizona Fall League announced the organization and staff assignments for the 2015 season this week and Salem Red Sox pitching coach Paul Abbott was named the pitching coach for the Scottsdale Scorpions.

Prior to joining the Red Sox, he spent two seasons in the independent Golden League with the Orange County Flyers, serving as the manager in 2010 and the pitching coach in 2009. Abbott spent parts of 11 seasons in the major leagues from 1990-2004 with the Twins, Indians, Mariners, Royals, Devil Rays and Phillies. He won a career-high 17 games with Seattle in 2001 during the Mariners 116-win season.
