June 13, 2016

Buffalo, NY --- Durham's Adam Wilk dominated Buffalo bats over eight innings, sending the Bulls past the Bisons 5-0 on Monday night at Coca-Cola Field.

Wilk (W, 2-6), who won for the first time since May 2nd, used a mere 77 pitches over eight innings, the longest start by a Bulls pitcher this season. Wilk had five ininings in which he made eight pitches or less, with the longest at-bat by any Bisons' hitter was just six pitches on two occasions.

Durham (30-36) handed Wilk a 1-0 lead in the first on a sacrifice fly by Nick Franklin, scoring Johnny Field from third who had tripled. JP Arencibia stroked his second home run in two days, leading off the second with a deep blast to left against John Anderson (L, 0-1).

In the fourth, Franklin legged out a potential double play ball to allow Jake Hager to score. The Bulls added two more in the fifth against Anderson thanks to three extra base hits. Dayron Varona doubled and scored on Arencibia's double down the left field line. Hager later tripled home Arencibia.

Steve Geltz pitched the ninth, closing out Durham's fifth shutout since May 27th.

The Bulls, now 2-2 on their 9-game road trip, send Justin Marks (2-4, 3.95) to the mound against Wade LeBlanc (6-2, 1.67) of Buffalo (33-31) on Tuesday night at 7:05 PM ET.
