Rick Albert Named New Rome Braves Manager

The Rome Braves announce that Matt Walbeck has been relieved of his managerial duties and Rick Albert has been named the new manager.

Albert has been a staple in the Braves organization as a player, coach, or manager since 1972 and comes to Rome from the Gulf Coast League team. He has managed or coached at every level and in 2000 was honored as the organization's Minor League Manager of the Year.

The Braves open a four game homestand tonight against Greenville.
