Mustangs set to Celebrate 60 Seasons

Historic Opening Day Slated for June 18
January 16, 2012
BILLINGS, MT (01.16.2012) - The Billings Mustangs Professional Baseball Club announced today their game schedule for the upcoming Pioneer League season. The 2012 campaign marks the 60th Season that the Mustangs have played and operated in Billings.

The Mustangs open the 76-game Pioneer League schedule at Dehler Park on Monday, June 18 when they play host to Northern Division rival Missoula at 7:05 pm MST. Billings will play 16 of their 38 home games on weekend dates, including six Friday dates, five Saturdays and five Sundays. The Mustangs will also play at Dehler Park on July 4, hosting the Helena Brewers in a holiday special event at 4:05 pm MST.

The 2012 season also marks the 39th consecutive season that the Mustangs have been an affiliate of the National League Cincinnati Reds, one of the longest running player development relationships in professional baseball. The Mustangs have captured eight Pioneer League Championships while serving as the Reds Rookie League partner.

"We're looking forward to the summer and celebrating our 60th Season here in Billings," said Mustangs General Manager Gary Roller. "We're extremely proud to call Billings home, our only home since 1948. We not only recognize the significance of our history and traditions, we embrace our past and it continues to shape who we are today. The 2012 season is definitely a special season for the organization."

In honor of the club's 60th Season, the Mustangs, in association with Studio Simon, have developed a 60th Season commemorative logo, which will be featured on multiple applications and platforms throughout the season. The logo will serve as a sleeve patch for both the home and road jerseys, and it will also be available on team merchandise and souvenirs.

"We felt that the occasion provided us with an opportunity to celebrate in many different ways, including the creation of a commemorative logo," added Roller. "Our objective was to design an image that is unique, simple and bold, and, at the same time, consistent with our established brand identity. We believe the new logo is both informational and aesthetically attractive, and will be an excellent addition to our merchandising elements and other graphics needs."

The Pioneer League is comprised of eight professional franchises and divided into two divisions, the Northern Division and the Southern Division. Four Montana entries - Billings, Missoula, Great Falls and Helena - make up the Northern Division, while the Southern Division consists of teams from Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ogden, Utah, Orem, Utah and Grand Junction, Colorado, the newest member of the League.

Full-season ticket packages for the 2012 season go on sale March 1, followed by mini-season ticket plans on May 1. Individual game tickets will become available for purchase beginning June 1. Please call the Mustangs at 406-252-1241 for additional game and ticket information.
