RiverDogs Begin May With a Seven-Game Homestand

Riley Park to Welcome Team Ghost Riders on Saturday

CHARLESTON, SC - After a seven-game road trip to Lexington and Hickory, the Charleston RiverDogs will begin May with seven games at the friendly confines of Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The red-hot RiverDogs will play three games against the Lakewood BlueClaws and four with the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Along with the usual nightly activities, the RiverDogs homestand will include more of the promotions that the organization is so famous for and will provide everyone at The Joe with a chance to "Be Your Own Fan." On Saturday, May 5, the RiverDogs will play host to one of the most unique and exciting promotions ever at Riley Park. Team Ghost Riders will visit the park will their one-of-a-kind Cowboy Monkeys. They will be performing during the game and herding goats on the field after the contest. Friday, May 4 will be Boy Scout Night, as Boy Scouts will be coming out to watch the game and will camp out on the field after its conclusion. The homestand concludes on May 8 with Nurses Appreciation Night. The team will be honoring nurses at the park to help celebrate Nursing Week 2012. This RiverDogs continue to try and bring the best and most eye-catching promotions to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park for their fans and this homestand is another example of that. Whether you're a fan of the action on the field or the fun off of it at The Joe, remember to "Be Your Own Fan" as well.

May 2: Citadel Doubleheader, Senior Wednesday The Citadel and the RiverDogs both play on Wednesday, with the Bulldogs beginning at 3 pm. Fans going to The Citadel game can stay for the RiverDogs game that night (but must yield their seat to those with reserved seat tickets) and all those holding RiverDogs tickets can get in to watch The Citadel game. Wednesday means it is Senior Wednesday, as seniors get $5 tickets and a voucher for a free hot dog, soda and chips.

May 3: Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, Final Exams at The Joe Every Thursday night at Riley Park is a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday and this Thursday is no exception. Beers in the Ashley View Pub will be $1, and there will be food specials and it wouldn't be a Thirsty Thursday without DJ Natty Heavy providing the sounds. Final exams at The Joe means the RiverDogs will also have final exam-themed promotions to help the college students at the game celebrate the end to another semester.

May 4: General Dynamics Red Shirt Friday, Boy Scout Night and Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks Save $1 on your ticket if you wear red to the park, thanks to General Dynamics Red Shirt Friday, and you will be able to donate that single to a military family in need. The RiverDogs host Boy Scout Night, where scouts will camp on the field after the game. Everyone will want to stay put after the contest and witness yet another spectacular display of Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks.

May 5: Team Ghost Riders Cowboy Monkey Performance, Lowcountry Local First Go Local Saturday, Mascot Toothbrush Holder Giveaway, presented by West Ashley Dental Associates, City of Charleston Employee Night The RiverDogs continue to get the best and most unique promotions for their fans and Saturday, May 5, is another prime example. Team Ghost Riders visit The Joe with the famous Cowboys Monkeys herding goats. They will be performing during and after the game. Lowcountry Local First is bringing everyone another Go Local Saturday, with tri-county residents saving $1 off their ticket. The team will host City of Charleston Employee Night and the first 1,000 fans receive a free mascot toothbrush holder, sponsored by West Ashley Dental Associates. Every Saturday home game is a giveaway day with the RiverDogs.

May 6: CCPRC and Crews Chevrolet Family Sunday, Dog Day #3, MUSC Hospital Day Sunday at The Joe means it is Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission and Crews Chevrolet Family Sunday with free parking and, thanks to Pepsi, kids eat free. There will be the chance for a pregame catch on the field, reading with a RiverDog and postgame autographs with all the players. The team kicks off hospital week with MUSC Hospital Day and don't forget to bring your furry, four-legged friends because it will be another Dog Day.

May 7: Dogs With A Cause featuring SC Advocates for Epilepsy, Hair of the Dog Monday For the second time this year, the RiverDogs lend their support to a local organization on Dogs With A Cause Night. This time, South Carolina Advocates for Epilepsy will be featured at Riley Park. If you want to extend your weekend, come to the game for Hair of the Dog Monday with $1 beers at the AVP.

May 8: Two for Tuesday, Craft Beer Tap Tuesday, Nurses Appreciation Night On Two-for-Tuesday, fans who visit the box office can get buy one, get one free tickets. On the park's concourse, Craft Beer Tap Tuesday again features Sweetwater 420 and Blue Moon. Finally, the RiverDogs celebrate Nursing Week 2012 by holding Nurses Appreciation Night at Riley Park.
