Bulls At Yankees Series Preview

Bulls vs. Empire State Yankees

The Bulls travel to Rochester, NY to take on the Empire State Yankees in the final four game series of the team's second road trip. The two teams played each other a total of eight times last year, four games at the DBAP and four in Scranton, PA. The last time the Bulls faced the Yankees on the road was in August of last year, from the 16th to the 19th. The Bulls swept the Yankees four games to none and outscored Scranton 16 to 8 during the series. The Yankees will travel down south to take on the Bulls in early June this year.

Fast Fact

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees will play their entire season away from Scranton. The Yankees are in the process of building a new field, which will be ready to open for the 2013 season. The team will play the majority of their home games at Frontier Field, which is the home of the Rochester Red Wings.

Three to See

Here are three Yankees players that could play a role in the four game series.

LHP Manny Banuelos - Banuelos entered the 2012 season as the number two prospect in the Yankees organization and the number one pitching prospect in the system. He has three plus pitches that he uses to strikeout hitters. He throws a changeup, a curveball and a fastball that can touch 96 MPH.

UTL Steve Pearce - Pearce is near the top of the league in average this year and leads all SWB Yankees in hitting so far this season. A triple threat, Pearce can play first base, third base and outfield.

OF Jack Cust - Originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 1st round of the 1997 amateur draft, Cust signed a free agent deal with the Yankees during the offseason. The New Jersey native has hit over a 100 career home runs in the big leagues.
