Dyer, Vogt Lead Bulls To Winning Road Trip, 2-1

June 4, 2012
Louisville, KY --- Stephen Vogt homered to lift Shane Dyer to his first Triple-A win as Durham completed its first winning road trip of the season with a 2-1 victory over Louisville on Monday night.

Vogt homered on the second pitch of the sixth inning to boost the Bulls' lead to 2-0. Durham (26-33) took a 1-0 lead in the first against Chad Reineke. Desmond Jennings singled on the first pitch, then scored on a two-out single to right by Leslie Anderson.

Dyer (W, 1-1), meanwhile, went one batter into the sixth inning before allowing a double to Neftali Soto before being relieved by Bryan Augenstein. Augenstein permitted an RBI-double to Cody Puckett, but stranded Puckett at third base. Augenstein pitched a scoreless seventh, then turned the lead over to Dane DeLaRosa, who allowed a single and a walk in the eighth, but stranded the two aboard.

Brandon Gomes (S, 5) fanned Kris Negron in the ninth to close out the game with Felix Perez aboard as the tying run.

The Bulls finished their road trip 6-4, and have won 10 of their last 18 games away from the DBAP.

The Bulls managed six hits in the win, taking the series 3-1 over the Bats and winning the season series with Louisville 6-2.

Jhonny Nunez starts for the Bulls in the opening game of their eight-game homestand against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at 7:05 PM ET.
