Bulls Outlast Indians 6-2 In 13 Innings

Indianapolis, IN --- A four-run 13th inning ended a four-hour plus game as the Durham Bulls outlasted the Indianapolis Indians 6-2 at Victory Field on Tuesday night.

After a two-run single by Juan Apodaca tied the game in the fifth, the Bulls (38-21) pushed across four runs in the 13th to end a four-hour, 33-minute game. Mike Fontenot singled to start the inning, then Brandon Guyer beat out a sacrifice bunt for a single. Wil Myers looped a single to right to fill the bases, but outfielder Brett Carroll dropped the ball after he scooped it, allowing Fontenot to score. Vince Belnome doubled to left to score two more runs and later in the frame, Cole Figueroa tripled home a fourth run.

Indianapolis took a 2-0 lead in the first inning against starter Alex Colome, who battled through four innings, stranding six baserunners over his outing.

Adam Liberatore (W, 2-1) worked a season-high three innings to notch the victory, which gave the Bulls a four-game lead in the South.

The Indians fell to a league-best 40-20, and 22-8 at home.
