Louisville Rallies By Bulls, 8-5; Durham Splits Trip 4-4

June 11, 2013
Louisville, KY --- Neftali Soto hit a grand slam to cap a six-run fourth inning as Louisville beat Durham 8-5 in the Bulls road trip finale on Tuesday night.
Soto clubbed the first pitch he saw from Steve Geltz (L, 3-1) to launch the Bats to a 6-4 lead with two outs in the fourth inning. The Bats (31-35) batted around against Adam Liberatore and Geltz, who were two of the six pitchers in the game used by Durham. Jake Odorizzi was scheduled to start, but called up by Tampa Bay after its 14-inning game on Monday night, forcing Cory Wade to make his first start in nearly three years.
The Bulls (41-25), who maintained their three game lead in the South, took an early 4-0 lead against Chad Reineke (W, 5-3). Brandon Guyer doubled home Tim Beckham from first base in the opening inning, then Wil Myers and Leslie Anderson hit back-to-back homers in the third. The centerfield shot by Myers was his third in the series and 13th of the season.
Cole Figueroa drilled a ninth inning homer to close the gap to 8-5.
The Bulls have Wednesday off before opening an eight-game homestand Thursday night against Indianapolis at 7:05 PM ET at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
