LOWELL, Mass. - The Doubledays dropped game one 6-4 against the Lowell Spinners Tuesday night at LeLacheur Park.

The Doubledays (13-29) scored early on a Jimmy Yezzo RBI double to score Bryan Lippincott in the first. Lowell (23-18) answered with a Kevin Mager RBI single to plate Forrestt Allday to tie the game at 1-1. The Spinners claimed their first lead of the night with a two run fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead over Auburn and added three more runs in the fifth to jump in front 6-1.

The Doubledays trimmed the lead 6-4 with three runs in the seventh. Isaac Ballou and Greg Zebrack each singled and Bryan Lippincott cracked a single to bring them both in. Yezzo later hit a SAC fly to drive in Lippincott. Bryan Lippincott was huge for the Doubledays going 4-5 with two runs scored. The four hits ties Yezzo for most hits in one game this season for a Doubleday player.

Auburn made things interesting in the ninth putting runners on the corners with one out. The Doubledays couldn't cash in and Joe Gunkel picked up his second save this season for the Spinners.

Game two of the series is Wednesday night with a 7:05 first pitch. RC Orlan will take the mound for the Doubledays.
