September 6, 2009
(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) Brandon Wikoff's two-run single in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie and the Lexington Legends defeated the Bowling Green Hot Rods 3-1 in Bowling Green Saturday night.

The Legends opened the scoring with a run in the third inning. Albert Cartwright led off with a bunt single, and after Wikoff struck out, Cartwright moved to second on Jay Austin's infield out, and then scored on a single by Brian Pellegrini. It was Pellegrini's 73rd run batted in of the season, and the 142nd of his Legends career, tying the club record held by Ramon German.

Bowling Green tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth. Mike Sheridan reached on a bunt single, moved to third on two infield outs and scored on a single by Robi Estrada.

In the seventh, Chris Jackson led off with a single. He advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Russ Dixon, and to third on a single by Cartwright. Cartwright stole second, and with runners at second and third, Wikoff hit a fly ball that fell inside the line in short right field, scoring both Jackson and Cartwright to give Lexington a 3-1 lead.
