Opening Night Highlights First Homestand

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Indians will return to Victory Field this Thursday, April 10, to host their long-awaited home opener for the 2014 campaign. The Tribe's season-opening homestand will include three-game sets against both the Toledo Mud Hens, Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, and Columbus Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, and will also feature a full slate of exciting promotions, beginning with Opening Night festivities.

THURSDAY, APRIL 10 vs. TOLEDO            7:05 p.m.

"60 Degree Weather Guarantee" - Courtesy of the Indianapolis Indians official weather partner, WTHR, the Tribe's "60 Degree Weather Guarantee" states that if the game-time temperature at Victory Field is below 60 degrees on Opening Night, everyone in attendance will receive a FREE ticket to another April home game of their choice.

Thursday Value Night -  The Indians' home opener also features the first Thursday Value Night of the season, where fans can enjoy the full ballpark experience in one $20 package. Thursday Value Night packages include a Reserved Seat ticket, T-shirt, hot dog and unlimited soda, and patrons may upgrade to a Box Seat ticket for just $4 more.

Schedule Magnet Giveaway - The first 2,500 fans through Victory Field's turnstiles will receive a free team schedule magnet for the 2014 season, courtesy of Porter Paints and Comfort Suites.

Sun King Bike to the Ballpark & "Indians Lager" Tapping - Led by Mayor Greg Ballard, a throng of 300-400 bike enthusiasts will cruise through downtown Indianapolis to Victory Field. The annual event will also feature the tapping of "Indians Lager," the official craft beer of the Indianapolis Indians, in The Cove.

Postgame Fireworks - Opening Night will be capped off with a bang as fans are treated to the first postgame fireworks show of the season.

Schedule Magnet Giveaway - Fans will want to arrive to the ballpark early as the first 2,500 patrons in attendance receive a free team schedule magnet, courtesy of Porter Paints and Comfort Suites.

SATURDAY, APRIL 12 vs. TOLEDO             7:05 p.m.

Mascot Mania - The Tribe's award-winning mascot, Rowdie, will be joined by local friends and fellow mascots to both entertain patrons and sign autographs throughout the evening.

Team Autograph Session  - Come out and meet your 2014 Indianapolis Indians squad as the reigning division champs are on-hand to meet fans and sign autographs from 5:45-6:30 p.m.

Schedule Magnet Giveaway - The first 2,500 fans inside Victory Field will take home a 2014 team schedule magnet, courtesy of Porter Paints and Comfort Suites.

Kids Eat Free - Your kids' lunch is on the Indians as children ages 14 and under receive a voucher for one hot dog, a bottle of water and one bag of chips with the price of admission.

Monday Dollar Menu - Ballpark favorites hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, chips and popcorn will be available for the discounted price of $1 each.

TUESDAY, APRIL 15 vs. COLUMBUS       11:05 a.m.

Baseball in Education - Thousands of school-aged kids will have the opportunity to learn outside the classroom with the season's first Baseball in Education Day at the ballpark. Students in attendance will receive special educational workbooks to complete during an afternoon filled with baseball-related curriculum. Gates open at 9:30 a.m.

Following the two sets of contests at Victory Field, the Tribe will then begin a home-and-home series with the Louisville Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The Indians are scheduled to open the home-and-home series at Louisville Slugger Field (April 16-18), before returning to Indianapolis on April 19 for a Signature Saturday with live entertainment from the Russian Bar Act.
