Lee, Sands Lead Bulls Past Scranton, 9-2

Durham Captures 1st Win Of Road Trip

Scranton, PA --- Hak-Ju Lee and Jerry Sands drove in five combined runs to help Durham snap its five-game losing streak, defeating Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 9-2 on Saturday night.

Lee collected three hits, including a two-run double in the third. Sands singled home a run in the first, the clubbed a two-run single in the fifth inning as the Bulls (21-16) opened up a 9-1 lead.

Matt Andriese (W, 2-3) went five innings to earn his second victory. Andriese allowed three hits and one run.

The Bulls opened up a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to four straight singles with two outs. Sands and Vince Belnome singled home runs against Shane Greene (L, 0-1).

Cole Figueroa delivered a sac fly in the second, then Lee doubled in the third to key a three-run frame. Greene was done after three innings, allowing six runs (three earned).

Braulio Lara made his first appearance this season with the Bulls, working two scoreless innings before Jeff Beliveau and Juan Sandoval closed out the victory.

The series continues Sunday at 1:05 PM ET with Nathan Karns (2-2, 6.96) starts against Scranton's Chase Whitley (3-2, 2.49).
