Billings, MT— After being swept on the road to the Great Falls Voyagers (3-10), the Billings Mustangs (6-7) needed a bounce back win at home.

Billings came out firing in the first inning, plating four runs off the Voyagers starter Ari Kauffman. Jerry Chavarria lined a double off the centerfield wall to open up the scoring. The next batter Robbie Kellerman singled home two more runs and the Stangs led 4-0 after the first.

The Mustangs tacked on one more in the fifth after Daniel Cipriano reached on an error. Robbie Kellerman delivered another base hit to make it 5-0 Mustangs. Kellerman would finish the evening 2-for-4 with three RBI.

The Voyagers got on the board with two in the fourth inning before Dom Abbadessa with the bases loaded blasted a grand slam over the right center field fence to give Great Falls their first lead of the game at 6-5. The home run was one of three hits Abbadessa would have on the night.

Kaufmann settled down and shut out the Mustangs in five of the seven innings he pitched.

Heading into the ninth, the Stangs were trailing 7-5. Sean Hupp entered the game in the eighth inning and was untouchable. He struck out two Mustangs hitters in the process. In the ninth, Caedan Harris got things going with a double that rocketed off the 410' sign in centerfield. Dalton Cobb followed up with his second single of the night before Chris Eusay lined a double down the left field line that tied the game at seven a piece.

With Eusay at second base, Hovey hit a hard chopper back up the middle that trickled its way to centerfield that scored Eusay. The Mustangs secured their first walk off victory of 2021, downing the Voyagers 8-7.
