Missions storm back to beat Baby Cakes

The San Antonio Missions rallied for eight runs over their final two turns at bat, then outlasted the rain and the New Orleans Baby Cakes to claim a 9-8 victory on Friday night at Wolff Stadium.
The Missions claimed three of four games in the series, as the teams hit the reset button for four more games in New Orleans starting Saturday night.
New Orleans led 5-1 into the bottom of the seventh, when Tyrone Taylor greeted reliever Kyle Keller with a two-run homer. That was only the start of Keller's struggles, who gave up hits to the first three batters in the eighth inning, opening the door to a five-run rally as the Missions batted around to take the lead.
Troy Stokes hit a go-ahead two-run homer off R.J. Alvarez to cap the comeback.
Taylor, Stokes and Corey Ray, who went deep off 'Cakes starter Hector Noesi to lead off the bottom of the first, gave San Antonio home runs from all three outfield positions.
The Baby Cakes answered courtesy of JT Riddle's two-run triple in the third inning, and three more runs in the fourth highlighted by Yadiel Rivera's two-run homer.
Austin Dean slugged his team-leading seventh home run of the season in the eighth inning. After falling behind in the bottom half of the frame, the 'Cakes put two on with no outs in the ninth before heavy rain forced a 46-minute delay.
Upon the game's resumption, Bryan Holaday ripped the first offering from Jake Petricka into center field to plate both runners. With two outs and Holaday at second, Donnie Hart came out of the bullpen to retire Riddle on a fly out to right field to end the contest.
Noesi exited the game having allowed one run and four hits in 6 2/3 innings but had to settle for a no-decision. Keller (1-1) recorded only one out and gave up four runs and four hits to take the loss.
