Billings, MT— After the Billings Mustangs (7-7) won on a walk-off single last night, the Mustangs defeated the Great Falls Voyagers (3-11) again 9-5.

The Voyagers struck first off the Mustangs starter Cody Hacker. In the second inning, Kyle Crowl hit his first home of the season over the left field fence to push the Voyagers ahead 1-0.

They wouldn’t hold the lead for long though as Chris Eusay drove home the first run with an RBI single in the bottom half of the inning. Great Falls answered with two this time in the fourth. Chris Caffrey, the Voyagers leading RBI man, doubled to score two. Voyagers led 3-1 temporarily as the Mustangs opened things up in the fourth as well.

Caedan Harris started the inning by blasting a ball over the left field wall for his first long ball of the 2021 season. Then, with the bases loaded, Anthony Amicangelo cleared the bases by shooting a ball down the right field line. Mustangs took their first lead 5-3 and never looked back.

Dom Abbadessa hit his second home run in two nights at Dehler Park. His solo blast cut the lead to just one, 6-5 in the seventh.

The Voyagers hung tough until the Mustangs plated three runs in the final two innings. In the seventh, a Dalton Cobb triple and Jalen Garcia single drove in two. Cobb reached base in all five plate appearances. He finished 2-for-2 with three walks; tt was his fourth three walk game of the season. Jalen Garcia finished 3-for-5 with three singles as well.
