Pulaski, VA - Pulaski dropped the opening game of a two game home series against the Princeton Rays on Monday night by a score of 6-2. The Rays jumped out early win a run in the first and cruised from there.

Princeton got their lead off man aboard via a walk from Yankees starter Leonardo Pestana. He came around to score after a stolen base and a passed ball got him to third before scoring on a ground out. Princeton added two more runs in the third inning off a two-run home run and ended up leading Pulaski 5-0 after the top of the fifth.
Princeton starter Matthew Peguero pitched a perfect four innings for the Rays before being replaced by Trevor Brigden in the bottom of the fifth. He walked the second batter he faced but carried the Rays no hitter into the bottom of the seventh.
The Yankees finally got their first hit of the night when Ryder Green hit double to left center field with one out. Jake Farrell scored Green with a hard hit ball of his own down the first base side that took a nasty hop over the glove of the first baseman as Farrell scooted into second base. Chad Bell scored Farrell from second with a single to right field and the Yanks cut the Rays lead down to 5-2 after seven innings.
The Rays got one run back when one of the seven batters who were awarded a free pass to first base either on a walk or being hit by a pitch scored on a double from the bat of Gionti Turner that got into the left field corner.
Jesus Bastidas hit a double to the right center gap in the bottom of the ninth with two outs but was left stranded at third base as the Rays ended the game by striking out two of the last three batters.
