Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes reclaimed sole possession of first place in the South Division with their second straight win over Inland Empire, dominating in a 10-4 win over the 66ers on Saturday night at LoanMart Field.

Jorbit Vivas drove in three and Kendall Williams gave the Quakes five strong innings, as the Quakes won for the eighth time in ten home games on the current home stand.

Williams walked two of the first three hitters and Inland Empire turned that into a 1-0 lead, but the 66ers’ defense had their second straight five-error game, helping Rancho out with three errors and two walks in the bottom of the first, as Rancho scored three to take a 3-1 lead without the aid of a hit.

An RBI hit by Sam McWilliams upped their lead to 4-1 in the second, before they got two more in the third to take a commanding 6-1 lead against Inland Empire starter Julio Goff (4-4).

The 66ers tallied three in the sixth off Braydon Fisher to make a game of it at 6-4, but the Quakes put it away in the last of the sixth. Vivas capped his two-hit, three-RBI day with a two-run shot to right, his ninth of the year to make it 10-4.

Williams (2-1) allowed just one unearned run on two hits over five innings to net the win.

Rancho (34-30) will go back to Carlos Duran (2-2) for the final game of the series on Sunday, as the game-one starter makes his second appearance of the series. The 66ers will roll with game-one starter John Swanda (2-5). Game time on Sunday is slated for 5:00pm. Kids will Run the Bases after the game on Sunday, thanks to Smile Generation.
