Portland, Maine- The Binghamton Rumble Ponies edged the Sea Dogs 3-2 in extra innings of game one of a doubleheader on Thursday night at Hadlock Field. Game two was suspended due to rain heading into the bottom of the fourth inning with Binghamton leading 2-0.

Portland, Maine- The Binghamton Rumble Ponies edged the Sea Dogs 3-2 in extra innings of game one of a doubleheader on Thursday night at Hadlock Field. Game two was suspended due to rain heading into the bottom of the fourth inning with Binghamton leading 2-0.

The game will resume Friday night at 5:30 PM. The two teams will complete seven innings, which will be followed by Friday's regularly scheduled game, which also will be seven innings in duration. Gates will open at 4:30 PM.
GAME ONE RECAP
 
Gavin Cecchini hit an RBI single off of Adam Lau in the eighth inning to plate the game-winning run in game one and give Binghamton a 3-2 win.
 
The score was tied 2-2 when Cecchini led off the eighth, he hit the third pitch he saw from Lau to score the automatic baserunner Sam Haggerty.
 
The Sea Dogs had a chance to tie in the bottom of the eighth, but Andrés Giménez was able to throw out Jhon Nunez in a close play at home plate on a ground ball hit by Jarren Duran against the drawn-in infield. Eric Hanhold (W, 2-0) went on to strikeout CJ Chatham to end the ballgame.
 
Gimenez also threw out Luke Tendler at home plate to end the first inning.
 
Portland took an early lead on an RBI double by Joey Curletta to score Bobby Dalbec and give the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead.
 
Binghamton tied it in the second on an error by Chatham that allowed David Thompson to score.
 
The Rumble Ponies took their first lead in the third on an RBI single by Ali Sánchez to score Cecchini.
 
Portland tied it 2-2 in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Jeremy Rivera to score Brett Netzer.
 
Both starters received no decision. Matthew Kent went seven innings for Portland and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts. David Peterson also allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
 
GAME TWO RECAP
 
The Rumble Ponies scored in the top of the first on an RBI double by Patrick Mazeika that just got over Jarren Duran's head in center field.
The Rumble Ponies scored again in the fourth inning with back-to-back doubles by Andres Gimenez and Gavin Cecchini to take a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth inning.
