The Sky Carp win streak stopped at four games on Thursday, as Great Lakes defeated Beloit in both games of the doubleheader; 3-0 in game one and 3-1 in game two.

Beloit couldn’t manage a run on four hits in game one. Starter Pat Monteverde went four innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out five.

In game two, the Sky Carp jumped ahead in the first thanks to a Victor Mesa Jr RBI double to score Nasim Nunez. The 1-0 lead didn’t last long, though, as starter Hunter Perdue allowed two triples in the bottom half, which knotted the game at 1-1.

The Loons scored three unanswered to finish the game, tallying a run in the 4th and another in the 5th, both off Perdue.

The losses drop Beloit to 8-16 on the season and put the Loons ahead 2-1 in the six-game series. The set continues tomorrow with a 6:05 ET first pitch, with Dax Fulton on the mound for the Sky Carp.
