Beloit drew first blood in the second inning when Kyler Castillo doubled home Ynmanol Marinez with the game's first run.
That's the way the game stayed until the Sky Carp exploded for six runs in the seventh inning. Cody Morissette and Nasim Nunez drew bases-loaded walks, Victor Mesa hit a sacrifice fly and Bennett Hostetler capped the Beloit scoring with a three-run homer to make it 7-0.
The Captains scored three times in the eighth inning, but would get no closer. Zach King was simply outstanding, hurling six scoreless frames. King allowed just five hits and a walk while striking out nine.
The Sky Carp will take Monday off before traveling to Lansing for another six-game series beginning Tuesday. Beloit will return home to face South Bend beginning Tuesday, June 28.
