WICHITA, KS – The Wind Surge totaled 15 hits and completed a five-win week with a 10-4 triumph over the Hooks Sunday afternoon at Riverfront Stadium.

After authoring a season-best, six-game winning streak July 30-August 5, the Hooks have dropped seven of their last eight.

The Wind Surge scored in each of the first four innings, building a 7-0 advantage. Wichita recorded eight extra-base hits, including home runs Jair Camargo, DaShawn Keirsey, Jr., and Will Holland. Holland’s round-tripper was an inside-the-parker to start the second.

The Surge scored in all but two frames – the fifth and the sixth. Those innings were penned by Cody Deason.

Will Wagner and Cesar Salazar struck for back-to-back home runs to put the Hooks on the board in the seventh. In their next at-bats, Wagner tripled to begin the ninth and Salazar belted the subsequent pitch into the CC bullpen for his first career multi-homer game.

Lefty Kody Funderburk improved to 8-4 for Wichita by hurling five shutout innings.

Corpus Christi is off Monday before beginning a two-week stand at Whataburger Field. The Hooks and Frisco RoughRiders meet at 6:35 in Tuesday night’s series opener.
