The Indians (20-16) totaled 10 hits in their seventh win by one run this season. With the game level at 5-5 in the fifth, Indy's 10th and final knock of the game came off the bat of José Osuna, a soft groundball single into right with two away that plated Kramer, who had doubled moments before.
The Tribe bullpen took over for Alex McRae and continued their recent dominance with four scoreless frames. Brandon Waddell put up a zero in the sixth, Jesus Liranzo recorded five outs and Jake Brentz (S, 1) retired each of the four batters he faced to preserve the lead.
Scranton/WB (18-16) led 1-0 after a half inning without recording a hit. Indy grabbed its first advantage at 2-1 in the second on four singles, including RBI hits from Robinson and Steven Baron. The RailRiders jumped back on top, 3-2, with two runs in the third on a Tyler Wade triple and Ryan Lavarnway RBI single.
The seesaw battle continued in the home half of the third. Lonnie Chisenhall singled, took third on Kramer's second hit of the day and scored on a sacrifice fly by Osuna. Robinson then blasted his home run down the right-field line to make it 5-3.
Solo homers by Breyvic Valera and Brad Miller in the fourth and fifth brought the visitors even again, until Osuna's game-winning, two-out hit after the halfway point.
McRae (W, 4-2) benefited from the run support as Indy won for the sixth time in his last seven starts overall. He allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 5.0 innings pitched.
RailRiders starter David Hale gave up five earned runs on eight hits in 3.0 innings of work but didn't factor into the decision. Rex Brothers (L, 0-1) suffered the loss after surrendering one run and two hits in 3.0 innings of relief.
Chisenhall, Osuna, Robinson and Kramer accounted for nine of Indy's 10 hits.
The Indians and RailRiders wrap up their three-game set on Thursday at 11:05 a.m. ET. Right-hander Dario Agrazal (2-0, 1.25) will face Scranton/WB righty and former Indian, Drew Hutchison (2-2, 6.75).
