Thank you to our community

April 16, 2020

IronPigs fans, We can't thank you enough for your continued support as we navigate these unprecedented times. Instead of final promotions planning and sampling new concession items, we've pivoted to contingency planning and learning how to mute ourselves on conference calls. It's been a period of extreme adjustment for everyone.

IronPigs fans,

We can't thank you enough for your continued support as we navigate these unprecedented times. Instead of final promotions planning and sampling new concession items, we've pivoted to contingency planning and learning how to mute ourselves on conference calls. It's been a period of extreme adjustment for everyone.

As many of you are aware, tomorrow evening was scheduled to be our Opening Night and we would love nothing more than to celebrate the start of a new season at Coca-Cola Park with you. Until we're able to do so, it's important to take the opportunity to simply thank you for your support - our fans continually prove yourselves every year as the Gold Standard within Minor League Baseball. Your responses to our community outreach efforts and our social media posts have been incredible, and you have helped us to provide entertainment in a time when we would typically be relying on baseball games for that.

We are extremely grateful for our community's first responders and health care personnel on the front lines of this pandemic, as well as all essential employees that are working tirelessly to limit the coronavirus' impact in the Lehigh Valley. We support and salute you, and eventually look forward to expressing our appreciation by honoring you at a game at Coca-Cola Park.

While we don't know when our Opening Day will officially take place, we know we will continue to be here for our fans, our partners, our employees and our community. In an effort to bring the ballpark experience to you, throughout tomorrow we'll be re-creating some of our favorite game promotions on social media. The all-day virtual celebration concludes with a "MLB the Show" broadcast of an IronPigs vs. Pawtucket Red Sox game at 8 p.m. We hope you can join us by watching the game on WFMZ Channel 69, wfmz.com, WFMZ Facebook Live or on Service Electric TV2 Sports.

I'm thrilled that our "In this Together" t-shirt fundraiser has already sold nearly 1,000 shirts. All proceeds from these sales are going to our health care partners, Lehigh Valley Health Network and St. Luke's University Health Network, to aid their fight against COVID-19 and support their front-line employees. If you haven't already, please consider joining other IronPigs fans in supporting this effort. Simply click here.

Finally, as a sign of unity and to bring our fans together on what would have been Opening Night, we are encouraging you to wear any IronPigs gear and/or caps you have tomorrow and to post photos of yourself on social media in your fan gear. In addition, we're hopeful that many of our fans will also post our #HopeningDay logo on their social media as well - either as a temporary Profile photo or simply within your timelines.

I look forward to sharing tomorrow with you, but even more I look forward to eventually standing beside you with a tremendous sense of pride and community when we're able to finally host Opening Day at Coca-Cola Park.

Stay safe and healthy,

Kurt Landes
