Tigers Take Tight Contest in Extras Against Hudson Valley

Wappinger Falls, NY - Jake Holton went 2-for-4 with two RBI and the Connecticut Tigers (33-35) defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades (38-29) by a final score of 6-5 in 11 innings. This is Holton's second straight game with an RBI.
Ryan Kreidler got the Tigers on the board with an RBI triple to make it 1-0. Holton drove in Kreidler two batters later to make it 2-0 after the top half of the first frame.
Hudson Valley did not score their first runs of the contest until the fifth inning. In the frame, Garrett Hiott delivered an RBI single off of Maddux Conger to make it 2-1. The Renegades got their final run of the inning when K.V. Edwards came in to score on a rundown in between first and second. Conger pitched a season-high five innings for Connecticut with two runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Holton added an RBI double in the top half of the sixth to give the Tigers the lead, but Hudson Valley answered with a run in the bottom of the seventh. The game stayed scoreless through the final few innings of the contest. Andrew Magno worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth to keep the game tied.
Kingston Liniak picked up his first RBI of the game in the 10th inning with a single through the left side. The Renegades answered in the bottom of the 10th with an RBI single of their own from Ben Troike.
Austin Anderson (Win, 2-0) pitched out of the second bases-loaded jam of the contest to keep the game tied at 4-4.
Eliezer Alfonzo lead off the top of the 11th inning with a double down the right-field line to make it 5-4 scoring the runner placed at second to begin the inning. Later in the frame, Avery Tuck walked with the bases loaded to make it 6-4.
Hudson Valley scratched across a run on a wild pitch by Ted Stuka (Save, 2), but Stuka finished off the contest stranding the tying run at first base.
