FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lewin Diaz homered for the third straight game, and Trey Cabbage broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth with a blast to center, as the Fort Myers Miracle doubled up the Jupiter Hammerheads, 4-2, on Saturday night at Hammond Stadium.
Cabbage's second home run of the season came with two outs and landed on the boardwalk to the left of the batter's eye.
Jose Miranda added an insurance run in the eighth with his fourth home run of the season. Miranda has homered in consecutive games and three of his last four.
Jupiter scored the game's first run in the top of the second inning on a wild pitch. The Miracle evened the game in the bottom of the frame on a David Banuelos RBI single. The Miracle catcher went 2-for-3.
The Hammerheads retook the lead in the fourth on an Angel Reyes sacrifice fly before Diaz's 13th home run of the season evened the game at two in the fifth.
Cole Sands started for the Miracle and allowed two runs in 5.1 innings. Sands started the sixth inning, and after recording an out, threw two pitches to Lazaro Alonso before leaving with a cut on his right hand. The right-hander walked one and struck out seven in his home debut.
Alex Phillips (2-2) relieved Sands and tossed 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the win. Hector Lujan collected his fifth save with a scoreless ninth inning.
The Miracle will look for the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
