Young Suffers First Loss

Batavia, NY -- The road troubles followed Williamsport to Batavia, as the Kyle Young and the Crosscutters suffered a 11-1 loss in game one of a rain shortened doubleheader.

Batavia, NY -- The road troubles followed Williamsport to Batavia, as the Kyle Young and the Crosscutters suffered a 11-1 loss in game one of a rain shortened doubleheader.

Batavia took an early lead against Kyle Young in the bottom of the 2nd inning, getting a RBI single from Matt Brooks to score Tyler Curtis, giving the Muckdogs a 1-0 lead. Brooks was tagged out going to 2nd base for the final out of the inning.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Muckdogs offense exploded, scoring 10 runs, all earned and with two outs in the inning against Kyle Young and Kyle Dohy.
Sam Castro laid down a bunt single along the 1st base line in the wet grass to get the the innig started with one out. After a Ricardo Cespedes pop out for the 2nd out, Kyle Young hit Thomas Jones and then walked Terry Bennett to load the bases.
Tyler Curtis ripped a three-run double to right-center to give the Muckdogs a 4-0 lead. 
After Curtis advanced to 3rd on a passed ball by Rodolfo Duran, Sean Reynolds connected on his first home run in a a Muckdogs uniform, a two-run home run to extend the Muckdogs lead to 6-0. It was the first home run surrendered by Young this season.
After the home run, Young surrendered a double to Maros Rivera, which was the last better that the southpaw would face as the Cutters would have to make an early call to the bullpen for the third straight game.
Kyle Dohy entered, walking the bases loaded on 12 pitches, including a wild pitch that allowed Rivera to score, giving Batavia a 7-0 lead and closing the book on Young.
With the bases loaded Ricardo Cespedes flared a single in front of a sliding Malvin Matos in center, scoring both Matt Brooks and David Gaunt to give the Muckdogs a 9-0 lead. 
With Thomas Jones at the plate, Dohy uncorked a wild pitch allowing Sam Castro to score and give the Muckdogs a 10-0 lead. Jones followed with a RBI double to score Cespedes and give the Muckdog an 11-0 lead, capping a 10-run inning.
The Crosscutters were able to avoid being shutout, plating their lone run in the top of the 5th inning. Rodolfo Duran singled into center, on a ball that skipped passed Ricardo Cespedes and went to the warning track. Cole Stobbe raced home from 1st base as Duran ended up on 3rd thanks to the error.
In the bottom of the 5th inning, with two outs and a runner at 2nd base, the skies opened up forcing the tarp to come out and place the game into delay. After a forty minute delay, the game was signaled complete, with the second game of the doubleheader being postponed until tomorrow.
Williamsport and Batavia will attempt to play a doubleheader tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled at 1:05 p.m. at Dwyer Stadium. Both games will be seven innings in length. 
Cutter Carvings - During the first four games of the rod trip, the Crosscutters have been outscored 35-14, going 1-3 in those games... It was the third straight game that the Crosscutters had to make a call to the bullpen before the completion of the 3rd inning... It was only the second time in the last 22 meetings that the Muckdogs defeated the Crosscutters...
