Tides outlast Stripers in 13 innings

Jace Peterson drove in three runs in extra-innings to help the Tides outlast Gwinnett 10-8 in 13 innings Saturday night at Coolray Field. 

Jace Peterson drove in three runs in extra-innings to help the Tides outlast Gwinnett 10-8 in 13 innings Saturday night at Coolray Field. 

Peterson had an RBI single in the 12th inning, then connected for a two-run single during the decisive 13th frame to help the Tides snap a four-game skid. It was the first extra-inning win for the Tides this season, as Norfolk had been 0-4 in extra-inning contests. 
Chance Sisco homered and drove in three in the win, while DJ Stewart paced Norfolk's 19-hit attack with four hits - including an RBI double in the 13th inning. Christopher Bostick added a single, double and triple in the victory. 
Jimmy Yacabonis worked three shutout innings in relief, including stranding an inherited runner in the 10th and 11th innings. Tanner Scott (1-1) earned the victory with two innings of work. 
The Tides and Stripers will continue their series on Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field, with first pitch slated for 1:05. RHP Tyler Herb is set to start for Norfolk, with airtime on ESPN Radio 94.1 set for 12:50 pm.
