The Charlotte Knights pounded out 21 hits and rolled to a 14-3 win over the Tides Sunday afternoon at Harbor Park. 

The Charlotte Knights pounded out 21 hits and rolled to a 14-3 win over the Tides Sunday afternoon at Harbor Park. 

The Knights got to Tides starter Lucas Long (0-2) in the third frame, sending nine men to the plate in a six-run inning. Alcides Escobar and Seby Zavala each had two-run doubles, as Long was chased after allowing six runs on five hits over two-plus innings of work. 
Escobar, who attended spring training with the Orioles, had a big day at the plate, going 5-for-6 with four singles and a double. Nicky Delmonico also had a big day for the Knights, as he went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI. 
The 21 hits registered by Charlotte were tied for the second-most in the International League this season, trailing a 22-hit outburst by the Rochester Red Wings on April 13th vs. Lehigh Valley.  
Austin Wynns had two singles and an RBI to help pace Norfolk's offense, while Chance Sisco added a single, double and run scored. Christopher Bostick had an RBI single in the setback to extend his hitting streak to seven games, the longest by a Norfolk player this season.

With the loss, the Tides wrapped up their opening homestand with a 6-5 mark. 
After their first off day of the season Monday, the Tides will kick off a nine-game, three-city road trip on Tuesday in a 6:35 contest at Columbus. Luis Ortiz (0-1, 4.76) is set to make the start for Norfolk, with airtime on ESPN Radio slated for 6:30 pm. 
Notes: Earlier Sunday, the Orioles selected the contract of RHP Gabriel Ynoa from Norfolk after designating RHP Mike Wright for assignment. Ynoa is the 7th player to appear on the active roster for both the Tides and Orioles this season… Tanner Chleborad, promoted to Norfolk from Double-A Bowie Sunday, allowed four runs on five hits over 2.0 innings in his Triple-A debut… Six different Charlotte batters registered multi-hit games…Norfolk is now 1-5 against Charlotte and 6-6 against the rest of the International League.
