SCOTT BLEWETT NAMED TEXAS LEAGUE PITCHER OF THE WEEK

SPRINGDALE, Ark - The Texas League announced the Texas League Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of August 6 through August 12 and Northwest Arkansas Naturals' right-handed pitcher Scott Blewett was recognized. Blewett becomes the second Natural and first pitcher to earn a league award during the 2018 season.
During the award-winning week, Blewett won his only start in dominating fashion as the big right-hander tossed a complete-game against the Frisco RoughRiders on Friday, August 10. He limited the RoughRiders offense to a run on eight hits, walked none, and struck out three. Blewett has now won three of his last four starts and became the first Naturals' starter to throw a 9.0 inning complete-game since Corey Ray accomplished the feat on June 8, 2017.

It marks the 25^th time that a Naturals' pitcher has earned the Pitcher of the Week honor and he is the first award winner since LHP Foster Griffin took home the honor for June 19 through June 25 during the 2017 season.
Ronnie Dawson of the Corpus Christi Hooks (Double-A Houston Astros) took home the honors as the Texas League Player of the Week by hitting .450 (9-for-20) with a double, two home runs, 3 RBIs and seven runs scored.
