(Brockton, MA) -- The Norwich Sea Unicorns split a doubleheader on the road with the Brockton Rox, pulling off a last-inning 4-3 comeback victory in game two after falling 5-2 in game one.

Michael Torniero (East Haven, CT/Central CT State University) delivered a two-out go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning with the Sea Unicorns down to their final out, scoring Ian Battipaglia (Chesire, CT/Franklin Pierce University) and Josh Wettemann (Guilford, CT/Southern CT State University) on a base hit to right.Torniero finished 3-4 in game two with three RBI’s, while Battipaglia scored twice for Norwich.

Tommy Hughes (Newington, CT/Southern CT State University) and Ray Seward (Clinton, CT/Franklin Pierce University) combined for zero earned runs over five innings, while Vincenzo Camera (East Haven, CT/) earned the win by giving up one run on one hit in two innings.

Leo Dionicio (West Hartford, CT/University of Dayton) singled home the game’s first run in the second to give the Sea Unicorns an early lead. The Rox took the lead in the fourth, but Norwich tied it in the fifth on a run-scoring single to center by Torniero.Brockton reclaimed the lead in the sixth on an Erick Ramirez RBI triple.

In game one, Reece de Castro (Rutland, VT/Castleton University) had an RBI single and Owen Caldwell (Wakefield, RI/Lasell University) pitched 2.1 innings of relief without giving up an earned run with two strikeouts.

The Sea Unicorns return home Thursday 7/29 to host the Brockton Rox at 7:00 pm for the first of three straight games at Dodd Stadium. Thursday night's game (7/29) is a “Thirsty Thursday” with $2 Sam Adams and $1 Bud and Bud Light drafts.
