Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Named Top 10 Minor League Ballpark

RedHawks home field finishes ninth in voting
August 15, 2013

OKLAHOMA CITY-Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, home of the Oklahoma City RedHawks, has been recognized as one of the top 10 minor league ballparks in the United States, the USA TODAY Travel Media Group announced.

The RedHawks' home field is one of 10 winners in the "Best Minor League Ballpark" category of the 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest, sponsored by USA TODAY.

Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark finished ninth overall in voting by readers, users and fans. The public had four weeks to vote from a field of 20 nominees first announced in July.

Nominees were selected by a panel of relevant experts, including editors from USA TODAY and 10Best.com, as well as contributors and sources for both media and other Gannett properties. Ballpark vistas, amenities, architecture and homage to Major League fields or legendary players were all considered by the experts when selecting the nominees.

"To be in the top 10 of 160 affiliated minor league teams is a special honor," said RedHawks President/General Manager Michael Byrnes. "It is a reflection of the facility we are lucky to work in as well as the outstanding people that make up our staff."
