Oklahoma City - A two-run double by Ronny Torreyes in the third inning ended up as the game winner in a 3-2 Oklahoma City RedHawks win Friday against the Memphis Redbirds in front of a sellout crowd of 10,029 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks (20-16) won the series, 3-1, picking up their fourth win in the last five games. The series win against Memphis was Oklahoma City's first of the season in Bricktown.

RedHawks starting pitcher Bobby Doran (1-2) earned his first win of the season, holding Memphis to two runs (one earned) on three hits over 6.0 innings. He walked two and struck out three.

Memphis (16-19) scored first Friday.

Redbirds catcher Audry Perez brought home Scott Moore on a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 Memphis lead in the top of the second inning. Moore doubled earlier in the inning and had advanced to third on a passed ball.

The RedHawks drew three straight walks in the bottom of the inning, including one by outfielder Robbie Grossman who walked with the bases loaded to score infielder Jonathan Meyer and tie the game, 1-1.

The two-run double by Torreyes on a line drive to center field pushed the RedHawks ahead, 3-1, in the third inning, scoring Jon Singleton and Gregorio Petit. Singleton led off the inning with a walk and Petit got on base with a single.

Memphis used a RBI double from Kolten Wong in the sixth inning to cut the Oklahoma City lead to 3-2.

Memphis starting pitcher Boone Whiting (0-5) allowed three runs on five hits, walked five and struck out four over 4.2 innings.

The RedHawks continue their eight-game homestand with a four-game series against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, starting at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Saturday marks the first Devon Energy Hometown Heroes Celebration Night of the season to recognize local service men and women and their families.
