Bees Score Late to Take Series Opener, 4-3

Oklahoma City - The Salt Lake Bees scored a go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning in a 4-3 win against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.The teams played to a 3-3 tie through eight innings in their series opener.

With one out in the top of the ninth inning, Salt Lake's Sherman Johnson hit a fly ball to left field for a triple. Francisco Arcia came up to bat next for the Bees and hit into a fielder's choice that allowed Arcia to score from third base for a Bees' lead.
Kyle Garlick drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the ninth inning for Oklahoma City, but Bees pitcher Akeel Morris retired the next three Dodgers batters to close out the game for his third save of the season.
The Dodgers (37-24) returned home from a West Coast road trip to open a seven-game homestand Wednesday.
Salt Lake (39-27) took the game's first lead with the first batter of the game when rehabbing Los Angeles Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun homered out to right field for a 1-0 advantage.
Kyle Farmer singled with none out in the bottom of the first inning to load the bases for the Dodgers. Bees outfielder Rymer Liriano fielded the ball and his throw to home plate went wide of the catcher, allowing two runs to score for a 2-1 Oklahoma City lead.
Farmer then came around to score on a groundout by Edwin Ríos for a 3-1 Oklahoma City lead later in the first inning.
The Bees loaded the bases with one out in the third inning. Dustin Ackley grounded out to bring home a run to cut the Dodgers' lead to 3-2.
Salt Lake knotted the game, 3-3, on Johnson's sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
Reliever Brian Schlitter (2-1) pitched the ninth inning and was charged with the loss for the Dodgers, allowing one run and one hit over one inning with one strikeout.
Bees reliever Eduardo Paredes (1-0) was credited with the win, tossing a scoreless eighth inning.
The Dodgers entered the game with the best home winning percentage in the Minors and fell to 23-7 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark this season.
The Dodgers and Bees continue their series at 7:05 p.m. on a $2 Thursday, featuring $2 Pepsi products, bottled water and select beer, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
