Dodgers Sweep Tuesday Doubleheader

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers swept both games of a doubleheader against the New Orleans Baby Cakes Tuesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, winning the first game, 5-4, in 10 innings and winning the second game, 5-2.
With the wins, the Dodgers (51-41) took a 2-1 lead in the five-game series between the teams and have now won five of their last six games overall.
The Dodgers scored the winning run in the top of the 10th inning of Game 1. Oklahoma City played as the visiting team in the first game, as the teams were making up a rainout from July 2 in New Orleans.
Dodgers reliever Cory Copping then entered the game to pitch the bottom of the 10th inning and retired the side in order to seal the win and pick up his first save with Oklahoma City.
Prior to the 10th inning, New Orleans had been able to respond in the bottom of each inning in which the Dodgers scored.
Oklahoma City broke through a 0-0 tie in the fourth inning of the first game with two outs.

The Dodgers put the go-ahead run at third base in the top of the seventh inning, but were unable to score.
The game was tied, 2-2, through seven innings, forcing extra innings in the first of two scheduled seven-inning contests.
The teams then exchanged runs in each of the next two innings.

In Game 2, the Dodgers jumped out to an early lead, marking the eighth straight game in which the Dodgers have scored first.
In the first inning, Joe led off with a single for the Dodgers. He advanced to second base on a wild pitch and then scored when Ríos hit a RBI double into right field for a 1-0 lead.
The Dodgers quickly added four more runs in the second inning.
Ramos led off with a single and scored when Angelo Mora followed with a RBI double into left field. Later with two outs and runners on second and first base, Ríos connected on a two-run double into center field.
The Baby Cakes scored two runs in the third inning, including one on an Oklahoma City fielding error and another on a sacrifice fly by J.B. Shuck to cut the Dodgers' lead to 5-2.

Oklahoma City improved to 4-4 in doubleheader games this season with the two Tuesday victories.
