OKC Dodgers Infielder Rob Segedin Named Triple-A All-Star

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City Dodgers infielder Rob Segedin has been selected to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team and will participate in the 2016 Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game Wednesday, July 13 at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C.

Segedin, 27, leads the OKC Dodgers in almost every offensive category this season, pacing OKC with 77 hits, 45 RBI and 46 runs scored. His 36 extra-base hits rank fourth in the PCL this season and he is tied for the league lead with seven triples. He also leads OKC with 16 doubles and 13 home runs. His 146 total bases rank fifth in the PCL.

Segedin, from Old Tappan, N.J., put together a career-best 14-game hitting streak from April 14-May 2, batting .424 (25x59) with 11 extra-base hits, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored and seven multi-hit games. This is his first season in the Dodgers organization after being acquired from the New York Yankees in a Jan. 12, 2016 trade in exchange for IF Ronny Torreyes and LHP Tyler Olson. In six seasons in the Yankees system, Segedin hit a combined .272 with 38 home runs and 230 RBI in 458 minor league games.

Segedin was selected by the Yankees in the third round of the 2010 draft from Tulane University. He graduated with majors in finance and management and is currently pursuing a MBA through the University of Indiana.

The 29th annual Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast live on MLB Network, the American Forces Network, MiLB.TV, and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network at 6 p.m. Central time. The game will be carried locally on AM 1340 "The Game."

The Dodgers are currently in Nashville and open a four-game road series at 7:05 p.m. at First Tennessee Park. The Dodgers will return home to open an eight-game homestand with an Independence Day Celebration at 7:05 p.m. Monday, July 4 against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
