11 Chasers Receive Royals S.T. Invites

The Kansas City Royals on Tuesday announced they have invited 19 players to Major League Spring Training camp as non-roster invitees. That includes 18 players who played in the Kansas City organization last year, with 11 of those having worn a Storm Chasers uniform.

The Kansas City Royals on Tuesday announced they have invited 19 players to Major League Spring Training camp as non-roster invitees. That includes 18 players who played in the Kansas City organization last year, with 11 of those having worn a Storm Chasers uniform.

Those 11 include two-time Omaha Player of the Year Frank Schwindel , as well as 2018 Omaha Pitcher of the Year Richard Lovelady . Invites have also been extended to 2018 Omaha pitchers Jason Adam , Jake Kalish and Zach Lovvorn , catcher Nick Dini , infielders Humberto Arteaga and Nicky Lopez , and outfielders Elier Hernandez and Bubba Starling.
The Royals' Spring Training culminates in an exhibition game presented by Cobalt Credit Union at Werner Park on Monday, March 25. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05pm CT. A limited number of tickets remain in Sunbelt Bakery Home Run Porch and McDonald's Berm, and can be purchased by clicking here.
Kansas City's current Spring Training roster sits at 59, including the Royals' 40-man roster. 39 of those 59 players have worn an Omaha Storm Chasers uniform in their respective careers.
Royals pitchers and catchers report to Surprise, Arizona on Tuesday, February 12. Workouts for pitchers and catchers begin the following day on Wednesday, February 13. The remainder of the team will report on Sunday, February 17 and begin workouts on Monday, February 18.
