ROUND ROCK, TX (July 24, 2019) -  The Omaha Storm Chasers made some noise in the seventh inning and again in the ninth, but ultimately failed to get on the board at Dell Diamond. LHP Eric Skoglund pitched six innings, holding the Round Rock Express to three runs, while the bullpen kept a clean sheet.

The Storm Chasers didn't get more than one man on base through the first six innings off of Round Rock starter LHP Kent Emanuel (7.0IP, 3 H 1 BB, 5 SO), but showed signs of breaking through in the seventh when the leadoff man, Erick Mejia belts a single to center field. With one out in the inning, 1B Ryan O'Hearn (1-3, 1 H, 1 BB) singles on a ground ball to right field. But a double play quickly ends the threat. In the top of the ninth inning, CF Brett Phillips (0-3, 1 BB) draws the leadoff walk and O'Hearn becomes the second Chaser on base with a base on balls as well. That last scoring chance ultimately ends with a ground ball to the Express closer, RHP Felipe Paulino (1.0 IP, 2 BB, 1 SO).
Round Rock scored their first run in the fourth and their other two runs came in the fifth off of a home run to right field by LF Joshua Rojas (1-5, 1 H, 1 R, 2 RBI).
Skoglund (1-3) takes the loss for Omaha while Emanuel (5-1) earns the win for Round Rock.
The two teams are set to play the rubber match in their three game series tomorrow evening at 7:05pm CST. The Storm Chasers return home for Concert Weekend at Werner Park beginning on Friday for a three game series against the San Antonio Missions.
Tickets for that game and all remaining Storm Chasers home contests can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office from noon until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at (402) 738-5100.
