ROUND ROCK, TX (August 12) - After rain halted last night's game, the Storm Chasers won the resumed contest 4-3, then dropped a 2nd game 5-3 to see their 5-game winning streak halted on Sunday evening at Dell Diamond.
The initial game resumed in the top of the 5th inning in a 2-2 tie. After the Chasers were held off the board in the top of the inning, Round Rock gained the lead in the bottom half on a solo home run by Hanser Alberto.
Omaha tied the game in the top of the 7th, as Paulo Orlando blasted his 8th home run of the season to make it 3-3.
Eric Stout (W, 3-3) tossed 4 innings of relief for Omaha, yielding just a single run.
The Chasers then took the lead in the top of the 9th against Taylor Scott (L, 4-5). Terrance Gore drew a walk, and Billy Burns tapped a ball in front of home plate; Express catcher Tony Sanchez tried to record the out at 2nd and threw the ball into center field instead. Center fielder Scott Heineman then overran the ball, incurring a 2nd error on the play and allowing Gore to come all the way around to score the go-ahead run.
Jake Newberry (S, 3) worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the 9th to record the save, and give Omaha their 5th consecutive victory.
