Papillion, Neb. – The Omaha Storm Chasers (12-14) took game three of the six game series 5-0 over the Columbus Clippers (18-9). Columbus now leads the series 2-1.

RHP Brady Singer recorded his first win of the season (1-0) for Omaha, throwing 5.0 innings and allowing 3 hits with four strikeouts. The Bullpen continues their streak of allowing no runs to 19.0 consecutive innings, dating back to May 1. Today’s relief effort was powered by RHP Matt Peacock (2.0 IP), RHP Arodys Vizcaíno (1.0 IP), and RHP Jose Cuas (1.0 IP) throwing 4.0 innings of one-hit ball with three strikeouts.

The Chaser’s got on the board first for the first time this series, scoring a run in the second. 2B Gabriel Cancel led off the inning with a double. A Clipper error led to Cancel scoring from second, to give Omaha a 1-0 lead.

The bats for Omaha got hot in the third when RF Clay Dungan started the inning off with an infield single to the shortstop. RF Brewer Hicklen drove a double to centerfield to score Dungan before C Freddy Fermin hit a single that would score Hicklen from first to move the lead to 3-0. The next pitch, Cancel hit a liner into left.

DH Jimmy Govern proceeded to double to score Fermin, but a fielder’s choice to the third baseman from CF Dairon Blonco got Cancel out at home. A pop up from 3B Angelo Castellana would end the inning with the Chasers in front 5-0.

The Chasers were not able to put many runners on the basepaths the remainder of the game and took game-three of the series 5-0, earning their first shutout of the season.
