Storm Chasers catcher Nick Dini homered and third baseman Humberto Arteaga slapped a walk-off RBI single in game one, while the Sky Sox took advantage of an Omaha error to record a 3-2 victory in the nightcap as Omaha and Colorado Springs split their doubleheader Saturday at Werner Park.

Dini smacked his first longball of the season to put Omaha ahead 1-0 in the third. Sky Sox RF Tyrone Taylor countered right back, however, by clubbing his first big fly of 2018 in the subsequent frame to even the contest at 1-1.

The score would remain the same until the seventh. Dini collected his second hit of the game with a single and replaced by pinch runner Terrance Gore , who promptly swiped second to set the scene for Arteaga. With a 1-0 count, Arteaga laced a line drive to right, with Gore beating the throw home to cue the celebration and give Omaha their first win of the season.

Dini (2-3, R, HR, RBI) and Arteaga (2-3, RBI) were the lone Storm Chasers batters to record multi-hit efforts, while Taylor (2-3, R, HR, RBI) tallied two knocks as well. Omaha reliever Eric Stout (2.2 IP, H, 2 BB, K) earned his first win of 2018, while Colorado Springs righty Erik Davis (0.2 IP, 2 H, R, ER, K) suffered the defeat.

The Storm Chasers also grabbed the first lead of game two courtesy of DH Ryan O'Hearn 's run-scoring base hit to right, his first of two RBI knocks in the nightcap. He would knot the tilt at two with a single to left in the third following the Sky Sox' two-run second that was highlighted by 3B Shane Opitz 's RBI double to center. Colorado Springs would plate the deciding run via a Storm Chasers error in the fifth, with the bullpen trio of Radhames Liz , Mike Zagurski and Jorge Lopez combining for the final 3.1 shutout frames of one-hit ball.

Liz (1.1 IP, 3 K) earned the victory, while Zagurski (1.0 IP, H, BB, 2 K) recorded a hold and Lopez (1.0 IP, 2 K) notched the save. Omaha righty Josh Staumont (1.0 IP, H, R, 0 ER, BB, 2 K) suffered the loss after being charged with the unearned run.

Storm Chasers C Parker Morin (3-3) posted a game-high three hits, with O'Hearn (2-4, 2 RBI) and SS Jack Lopez (2-3, R) also accruing two knocks. C Christian Bethancourt 's (2-4) two hits paced the Sky Sox order.

The two teams are set to complete their five-game series at Werner Park with a Monday matinee. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. CT.
