Sounds Take Series with 4-2 Win over Omaha

NASHVILLE, TN (July 19) - Nashville rode a 6th inning rally to a 4-2 victory over the Storm Chasers on Thursday night, taking 3 of 4 in the series at First Tennessee Park.
Omaha took a quick lead in the top of the 1st, on back-to-back 2-out doubles by Frank Schwindel and Ryan O'Hearn .
The Chasers made it 2-0 in the top of the 4th. Ryan O'Hearn singled, stole 2nd, and scored on a 2-out hit by Donnie DeWees.
Nashville struck back with 4 in the bottom of the 6th. Beau Taylor drew a 1-out walk, Anthony García doubled, Bruce Maxwell and Sheldon Neuse singled home a run each, BJ Boyd singled to load the bases, and Melvin Mercedes singled in two more to give the Sounds a 4-2 advantage.
Trevor Oaks (L, 6-4) was charged with those 4 runs on 8 hits over 6 innings. He struck out 2 and walked 2.
Daniel Mengden (W, 2-1) tossed 7 innings for Nashville, allowing just 2 runs, 5 hits, and 1 walk. He struck out 2.
Eric Stout pitched a scoreless 7th and 8th inning for Omaha, but the Chasers couldn't muster a rally against Liam Hendriks or Bobby Wahl (S, 11), and fell to their 3rd defeat in 4 days in the Music City.
The Storm Chasers (42-54) return to Werner Park tomorrow for a 3-day, 4-game home series against Round Rock. LHP Jonathan Dziedzic (3-8, 3.86) will face LHP David Hurlbut (4-6, 5.86), with first pitch scheduled for 7:05.
