PAPILLION, NE (May 22, 2018) - The Storm Chasers put four runs on the board in the second and fifth innings, catcher Cam Gallagher recorded three hits, and starter Heath Fillmyer threw seven stellar frames to give Omaha a 9-2 victory over the New Orleans Baby Cakes Tuesday night at Werner Park.

Five different Storm Chasers drove in runs in the victory. The scoring started in the second inning when some savvy baserunning allowed 1B Ryan O'Hearn to score on a Baby Cakes wild pitch. Just moments later, LF Logan Moon smashed a two-run single up the middle, before 3B Manny Olloque drove in his first career Triple-A run when he punched a single through the left side of the infield, scoring Moon from second to increase the lead to 4-0.
After New Orleans got one back in the third, the Storm Chasers once again scored four in an inning, this time the fifth. Omaha took advantage of a Baby Cakes error and showed more astute base-running skills that led to runs from CF Billy Burns and SS Jack Lopez . Back-to-back RBI singles from O'Hearn and RF Paulo Orlando then gave the Storm Chasers an 8-1 advantage. Gallagher added an RBI single in the seventh to extend the Omaha lead to 9-1.
Gallagher (3-4, R, RBI) led the Storm Chasers offense with three hits, in addition to multi-hit efforts from O'Hearn (2-4, 2 R, RBI), Orlando (2-4, R, RBI), DH Frank Schwindel (2-4, R, SB) and 2B Humberto Arteaga (2-4). All nine Omaha batters recorded at least one hit and seven scored at least one run.
Fillmyer (7.0 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 3 BB, 3 K) earned his third victory of the season after silencing the Baby Cake bats for much of the night, while University of Nebraska-Omaha alum Tyler Cloyd (5.0 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 4 K) suffered the loss for New Orleans. Storm Chasers relievers Josh Staumont (1.1 IP, 3 H, R, K) and Luis Vasquez (0.2 IP) saw the game out with two solid frames.
The two teams are set to square off again on Wednesday evening, with first pitch slated for 6:35pm CT at Werner Park. RHP Scott Barlow (1-1, 3.60) is expected to get the nod for the Storm Chasers, while RHP Sandy Alcantara (2-1, 3.52) is anticipated to start for New Orleans.
