(Missoula, MT) - Jeremiah Jackson gave the Owlz (8-16) a 1-0 lead in the first with a homer but the Missoula Osprey (13-11) scored the next seven runs as the Owlz lost the series opener, 7-1, on Wednesday night in Missoula.
Jeremiah Jackson smacked two homers in Monday's win over the Rockies. Jackson continued his power surge, crushing another one in the first inning on Wednesday's game in Missoula, his ninth of the season, giving the Owlz a 1-0 lead.
Spencer Brickhouse was the key catalyst for the Osprey on Wednesday, driving in five of their seven runs. Brickhouse gave the Osprey the lead in the first with a two-run home run. The Osprey added to the lead in the third inning on an Axel Andueza sacrifice fly.
Brickhouse put the game out of reach in the eighth. With the Osprey leading 4-1, Brickhouse cleared the bases with a three-run double. The Owlz managed just four hits one game after setting a season-high with 14. Patrick McGuff (3-1) allowed just two hits, earning the win. Emilker Guzman (1-2) was charged with the loss.
The Owlz and the Osprey continue the series on Thursday night at 7:05. Sadrac Franco makes the start for the Owlz against Tyler Poulin for the Osprey.
