The Orem Owlz announced that Justo Vazquez has been named General Manager.
Vazquez will be assuming the duties of Brett Crane, who has since left the Owlz to become the Minor League Equipment Manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Vazquez has spent the past couple years working for multiple organizations while obtaining his Masters Degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. Prior to joining the Owlz franchise at the beginning of March, Vazquez spent time with the Los Angeles Galaxy in Partnership Activation and as a Regional Sales Manager with Beckett Grading.
"Justo has the unique combination of maturity, sales experience, sports knowledge and an understanding of the importance of the Utah Valley community to the success of the Owlz organization," says Jeff Katofsky, Orem Owlz Majority Owner. "I look forward to the next step in the Owlz evolution with Justo at the helm."
At age 24, he becomes one of the youngest General Managers in all of Minor League Baseball. A Venice, CA native, he currently resides in Orem, UT.
"I'm very excited to begin the season as the new General Manager of the Orem Owlz. With a veteran front office and strong support from the community, I believe great things are on the horizon for the Owlz. I look forward to bringing my passion and energy for the game to the stadium every day."
