Salem, VA---The Potomac Nationals and Salem Red Sox were rained out of a chance to begin their series opener on Friday night inside the confines of Salem Memorial Ballpark.
LewisGale Field was hit with consistent light rainfall most of the afternoon and following an official 20 minute rain delay, the game was postponed.
A doubleheader has been scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) with Game One slated to begin with a 3:05pm first pitch and the nightcap will start not before 6:05pm.
The Nationals will send LHP Hector Silvestre (1-0, 3.55) and RHP Dakota Bacus (4-6, 4.49) to the mound tomorrow while the Red Sox will have RHP Joe Gunkel (2-4, 3.83) and RHP Pat Light (5-5, 4.99) pitching. The order of the pitching matchups is to be determined.
