P-Nats' Finale in Lynchburg Cancelled Due to Wet Grounds Following Thunderstorm

Contest Will Not Be Made Up as Potomac and Lynchburg Don't Meet Again in Carolina League's 2014 Regular Season

Lynchburg, VA-The 2014 regular season series finale between the visiting Potomac Nationals (70-53, 32-22) and the hosting Lynchburg Hillcats (62-66, 28-30) was cancelled on Thursday night due to wet grounds following a swift-moving thunderstorm that entered the Lynchburg area just after the scheduled start time of 6:05pm.

The contest is cancelled and will not be made up because Potomac and Lynchburg do not meet again in the Carolina League's 2014 regular campaign.

The Nationals return home to Pfitzner Stadium to begin the final homestand of the 2014 regular season. The P-Nats will host their Northern Division rival, Frederick Keys (Baltimore Orioles) in a four-game set that begins tomorrow evening at 7:05pm.

Potomac's Game One starting pitcher is to be announced.

Frederick plans to throw RHP Sebastian Vader (2-4, 5.25) in the series opener.

The Potomac Nationals Baseball Network, accessible by heading online to www.potomacnationals.com, will provide live broadcast coverage of tomorrow night's series opener in Woodbridge, VA beginning with the P-Nats Leadoff Show at 6:50pm before the play-by-play at 7:05pm.

Friday night at Pfitzner Stadium will feature a Bryce Harper poster giveaway to the first 1,000 fans to enter the gates at The Pfitz sponsored by: Warriorblack, the official under-eye anti glare product of the Washington Nationals phenom.

The P-Nats faithful will also receive 2015 magnet schedules presented by: Farmers Insurance and Jani King.

Kids will race the bases post-game courtesy of Glory Days Grill.
